This article aims to seek a brief reflection on the interrelationships between the international environmental protection and the human rights issues and to analyze the contributions of the process of greening of the Inter-American human rights system -a phenomenon that occurs when environmental issues are protected by the American Convention on Human Rights devices, which are in principle focused on the guarantee of civil and political rights.
