Abstract

Objective: to analyze the feasibility of designing a productive articulation center in Quintana Roo for the beekeeping activity in the municipality of José María Morelos. Methodology: mixed research approach about 886 honey producers for which a survey instrument and a semi-structured interview were designed for the apiaries’ leaders in the region. Results: the design of a productive articulation center in which the honey producers have interest taking into account the value chain analysis, the study of the beekeeping situation in the municipality, the identification of the value chain, and the involved actors’ articulation development. Value: the national and international beekeeping market opportunities are described and the viability to contest for economic financing is analyzed. Limitations: the study circumscribes to one sample extracted from José María Morelos. Conclusions: the apiarian leaders and producers show willingness to integrate into dynamics that suggest economic benefits for the communities.
