Abstract

CHACON-ZAPATA, Santiago  and  TAPIA-PADILLA, Fidel. Some species of the genus Byssosphaeria (Melanommataceae, Pleosporales) from Veracruz, Mexico. Rev. Mex. Biodiv. [online]. 2013, vol.84, n.3, pp.739-745. ISSN 2007-8706.  https://doi.org/10.7550/rmb.32985.

A study and description of 5 species of the genus Byssosphaeria from Veracruz State, Mexico is presented. The material used was that derived mainly from the author's collections during August to November 2011 and April to July 2012, as well as the revision of some specimens from the fungi collection at the XAL herbarium. Of the studied material, B. diffusa, B. rhodomphala and B. schiedermayeriana are recorded for the first time for Mexican mycobiota. Byssosphaeria xestothele is a new record for Veracruz State and a new location is presented for B. jamaicana. Illustrations and photographs as well as a key to identify the known species of Byssosphaeria found in Veracruz State are provided.
