Abstract

ARELLANO TOLEDO, Wilma  and  OCHOA VILLICANA, Ana María. Rights to privacy and information in the information society and in the ICT environment. Rev. IUS [online]. 2013, vol.7, n.31, pp.183-206. ISSN 1870-2147.

In the era of the Information Society and with the increasing use of the Information and Communication Technologies (ICT), the right to information, privacy and copyright must be specially protected as fundamental rights since their transgression or violation may injure the most intimate sphere of the individual. In addition, these rights may collide precisely as a consequence of using technology. In this research paper, we will discuss about the main advances in positive law carried out in Mexico (with some references to legislation in other countries) channeled to face this situation and to glimpse the legal challenges and opportunities aimed at improving the protection of such rights.

Keywords : ICT; right to privacy; right to information; copyright.
