Abstract

PAOLI BOLIO, Francisco J.. Time of coalitions: five decades of elections in Mexico. Rev. IUS [online]. 2012, vol.6, n.30, pp.136-148. ISSN 1870-2147.

Mexico has been consolidating a trend in political parties, national and local, to form coalitions of various kinds. These experiences, in which two or more parties to reach agreement on a project and also jointly commit to launch applications for various elected positions, can be appreciated very clearly from the federal election of 1988.

Keywords : Political parties; partisan coalitions; elections; Mexico; Mexican electoral system; democracy; electoral law.
