Abstract

CORDOVA PLAZA, Rosío. Without the Forest, We Have no Choice but to Leave": International Migration among Nahuas in Atlahuilco, Veracruz. Migr. Inter [online]. 2012, vol.6, n.4, pp.209-241. ISSN 2594-0279.

This paper is an anthropological approach to the particularities of international migration to the United States from an ethnic region in Veracruz, a Nahua municipality located on the Zongolica Mountains, through the analysis of the socio-demographic profiles and trajectories of the migrants. To this end, ethnographic and historical data is provided in order to explain the triggers of the international migration process in Veracruz. The research was carried out through 34 surveys and 16 interviews which explore various features of the process.
