Abstract

ALCOCER, Paulina. A Century of Studies about Literature and Uitoto's Ritual Chants. Latinoamérica [online]. 2015, n.61, pp.185-208. ISSN 2448-6914.

The study of Native Americans Literary Traditions is faced with the challenge of designing theoretical and methodological approaches capable of dealing with their subject in its own terms. Memory, Creativity and Intertextuality, as analytical axes, insofar as they deal with the contexts of enuntiation and transmission of texts, reveal a repertoire of formal and material supports, in which articulation of expression occurs, and thus forms constitutive part of literary tradition. This text presents a panoramic review of the theoretical and methodological approaches used during the last hundred years for the recording and editing of uitoto ritual chants.

Keywords : Native Americans Literary Tradition; Ritual chants; Uitoto.
