Abstract

CAMPOS DELGADO, Amalia E.. La línea "...está ahí, es algo que se ve, pero que también se siente": imaginarios de frontera de las juventudes "al sur". LiminaR [online]. 2010, vol.8, n.2, pp.46-70. ISSN 2007-8900.

Social Imaginary is the set of norms, values and symbols that a society builds and reproduces in a given territory. Using as a method the mental mapping and semi-structured interviews, this article aims to describe some of the "border imaginaries" that build the youth of the cities of Tijuana, Mexico and Tecún Umán, Guatemala. From the results we understand that the border is consider as a reference internalized in the lives of those who live adjacent to it, and whose expression is revealed in their notions of mobility and dynamic of interaction.

Keywords : Social Imaginary; border imaginaries; border youth; Tijuana; Tecún Umán.
