Abstract

Adverse events are a serious world health problem and children are a highly vulnerable group regarding drug administration error. a literature review was conducted on the Medline database and diverse medication adverse events in pediatric patients was identified. The objective of this study was to contribute to the knowledge base to help guaranty security measures while administering high-risk medications to pediatric patients. Current mortality rates show an urgent need of medication standardization in order to reduce this kind of adverse events in children.
