Abstract

HERNANDEZ HERRERA, Claudia Alejandra  and  SANCHEZ RODRIGUEZ, Salvador. Business education: an approach based on university students from two institutions of higher education. Innov. educ. (Méx. DF) [online]. 2017, vol.17, n.75, pp.81-102. ISSN 1665-2673.

The objective of the present paper is to analyze the perception held by students at two Mexican institutions of higher education with regard to business education considering factors such as motivation to launch businesses, the influences of the school and the development of skills to detect opportunities and backing for launching businesses. The purpose is to diagnose the advances and setbacks of these educational centers and to identify areas of opportunity that allow the development of the entrepreneurial culture that surrounds university youth. The compilation of information was done through a survey applied to 2,446 students: 1,865 from the Instituto Politécnico Nacional, IPN, and 581 at the Tecnológico Nacional de México. An exploratory factor analysis test and generalized linear models were carried out. In conclusion, we present the implications of the study for institutions of higher education directed at reinforcing business education and entrepreneurship.
