Abstract

In this article, we identify the contextual transposition described in the Mathematics in the Science Context theory. Based on this, we analyze the transformation that knowledge undergoes from the mathematical level to the level of mathematical application in the context of Advanced Technician in Food Processing. We also considered some of Chevallard's fundamental ideas in his theory of Didactic Transposition. To demonstrate the didactic and contextual transposition, we analyzed the system of linear algebraic equations and its application in a problem in a technical area. The findings indicate that systems of linear algebraic equations as presented in mathematics classes differ from their application in technical areas, accounting for the difficulty for students in the transference and application of mathematical knowledge.
