Abstract

HORBATH, Jorge E.  and  GRACIA, Amalia. Employment discrimination and vulnerability of women in the face of the world crisis in Mexico. Econ. soc. territ [online]. 2014, vol.14, n.45, pp.465-495. ISSN 2448-6183.

The deep changes in the relation between capital and labor caused by the emergence of a new world regime of accumulation have not produced similar effects on masculine and feminine labor forces. This document goes through the different manners of discrimination against working women in Mexico, its magnitude and tendency. Among other indicators, discrimination is expressed by lower wages for women in the Mexican salaried labor market, together with their being highly exposed to dismissal in the face of the world crisis which started in 2008.

Keywords : gender economy; labor discrimination; wage differential.
