Abstract

The present article it is focused in two relevant aspects in the geostationary satellite communications. The first is the parabolic antenna pattern radiation and the later is the cross-polarization isolation. Both parameters have a close relationship between them and they represent an important aspect in the ground segment performance. There is other characteristic involved with antenna pattern radiation and isolation test, they are subject to frequent revision and improvements in order to minimize the interference problems between satellite users and the geostationary orbit optimization which means to get more orbital positions by reducing the angular distance between satellites.
