Abstract

DEL ANGEL PEREZ, Ana L.  and  MENDOZA BRISENO, Martín A.. Familia totonaca, expresión cultural y sobrevivencia. Pap. poblac [online]. 2002, vol.8, n.32, pp.95-120. ISSN 2448-7147.

This article presents the results of the survey study conducted in the "Totonaca" communities of Tajín,, Espinal, and Coxquihui in Veracruz, Mexico. The objective of this research is to analyze the internal dynamics of nuclear and extensive households, by associating their characteristics to external factors. Results show that there is enough evidence to suggest that the group under study is in a household development cycle. Factors such as subsistence and pressure for outside the household, in turn related to specific cultural characteristics, are linked to the integration and dissolution of the family group.
