The contributions of civil society organizations (SCO) have been key for implementing local actions in projects of climate change adaptation. The aim of the research presented in this article is to analyze the contribution of CSOs to such projects in Mexico. The methodology employed data from primary and secondary sources compiled through surveys in 23 local organizations on the Gulf of Mexico, and through interviews with seven key respondents from Mexico's government institutions as well as from national and regional SCOs. The study hopes to emphasize the importance of SCOs in climate change adaptation and to strengthen the educational processes and strategies applicable to developing skills in climate change adaptation through community interaction.
