An updated inventory of spontaneous members of the family Rosaceae in Mexico is presented. 192 species (belonging to 34 genera) are listed; 11 of them are not native and 26 are only reported from one of the states. No references were found of their occurrence in the states of Campeche, Quintana Roo, Tabasco and Yucatan. A brief survey of the geographic and ecological location of the elements of the family is performed, emphasizing their significant participation in the composition of the xerophilous flora in Mexico.
