This contribution describes the synthesis and structural study in solution of the new sulfonylurea agents N-[4-[2-(2-oxo-2H-1-benzopyran-3-carboxamide)ethyl]-benzenesulfonyl]-N'-cyclohexylurea (5a) and N-[4-[2-(4-nitrobenzamide)ethyl]benzenesulfonyl]-N'-cyclohexylurea (5b). Full assignment of ¹H and ¹³C NMR spectra in solution of the intermediates 1-4 was accomplished. The new compound 5a constitutes a member of an important class of sulfonylurea drug with potential pharmacological activity.
