BACKGROUND:

Pancreatitis is a rare complication during pregnancy, its incidence has increased in recent decades worldwide. This case is of interest since the condition presented with a difference of 23 weeks.

CLINICAL CASE:

Through laboratory assistants, an increase in amylase and altered liver function tests were detected. Ultrasound showed image enhancement. General measures were granted and dietary management was indicated. At 36 weeks, she presented to the emergency room with exacerbation of the clinical picture, which warranted hospitalization and interruption of pregnancy.
