Abstract

ARROYO RAMIREZ, Tania. Radiodifusión y telecomunicaciones en México, sector estratégico o nicho de mercado. Polít. cult. [online]. 2015, n.43, pp.57-74. ISSN 0188-7742.

This paper analyzes the implications that the recent adjustments made to the legal framework that regulate telecommunications and broadcasting sectors are going to have over the current Mexican communications model. It argue that such changes privilege the consolidation of a mercantilist and private communications model, which contravenes a media development in the country that truly pays to strengthening civil rights such as freedom of expression or access to information. In parallel, we see that the perverse relationship that has existed for years between the current representative of the Executive, Enrique Peña Nieto, and the company Televisa has impacted fundamentally on the reconfiguration of the existing media-telecom model in our country.

Keywords : telecommunications; broadcasting; privatization; monopoly; reforms.
