This paper aims to analyze the political culture of the Paraguayan left around three aspects. On the one hand, it identifies the core and shared features of that political culture; on the other hand, unraveling the most important areas of dispute within that culture and, finally, it points out some of the innovative features that can reconfigure the political culture in the future. Regarding the methodology, techniques include participant observation and non-participant throughout various stays in the country and both semi-structured and informal interviews. It is concluded that in the medium term the socio-economic and ideological changes will provide a more urban and feminist profile to the left.

Keywords : political culture; Paraguayan left; peasantry left; urban left; feminist left.
