The objective of this article is to present the reconfigurations that the tradition of the Reto al Tepozteco (Tepoztlán, Morelos) exhibited during the COVID-19 pandemic. For the analysis, the data obtained through field work carried out (in situ and digital) were used, as well as theoretical-methodological tools of cultural semiotics. The results show a significant change in this tradition’s transmission and dissemination during the pandemic in this town. The article concludes that social networks were digital tools that played an important role in safeguarding the Reto al Tepozteco during the Jornada Nacional de Sana Distancia.
