Abstract

This article is the result of a research project. The objective was to identify and assessment the environmental impacts of the geographical space Campus University City of the Autonomous University of the State of Mexico, to know and analyze the environmental conditions in which performed the university activities. By Checklist they were identified 66 environmental impacts on the three stages of the project. With Qualitative Matrix Leopold they were determined 200 environmental impacts, of which 24 are significant beneficial impacts related to the activities educational process, research, dissemination, administration, sports and cultural events; 121 are significant adverse impacts, temporary and mitigated. The results show that since 1962, the Cerro of Coatepec and its components have shown positive and negative impacts. A challenge for the Autonomous University of the State of Mexico is to promote the participation of university people and implement environmental management system sustainable for the mitigation and compensation of impacts.
