Abstract

SALGADO-DELGADO, René et al. Electrical and thermal characterization of a composite material of HDPE/PPy/CB/CNT. Acta univ [online]. 2016, vol.26, n.2, pp.55-62. ISSN 2007-9621.  https://doi.org/10.15174/au.2016.980.

The study of composite materials has had a fundamental importance in scientific research and technological applications, due to their different properties. This paper aims to describe the characterization of thermal and electrical properties of the composite materials of poly-pyrrole (PPy)/carbon black (CB)/carbon nanotube (CNT) in a matrix of high density polyeth-ylene (HDPE). The electrical properties of the composites were studied by the van der Pauw method and current-temperature. Obtained resistivity results were up to 1.07E-01 Ω.cm for composite materials HDPE/PPy/CB/CNT. The impedance spectroscopy study showed that there is no charge retention material, behaving similarly as a semiconductor. Ther-mogravimetric analysis TGA showed increased thermal resistivity of the composites con-ferred by the presence of the fillers used. Morphology was studied by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), showing the distribution of load, aggregate formation and conductors in the composite bridges.

Keywords : Resistance; composite materials; electricity grids.
