Abstract
PEREZ SAINZ, Juan Pablo and MORA SALAS, Minor. Economic Surplus and Persistence of Inequalities in Latin America. Rev. Mex. Sociol [online]. 2009, vol.71, n.3, pp.411-451. ISSN 2594-0651.
This article constitutes a conceptual effort to understand the dynamics of the repro duction of social inequalities in Latin America during the global phase of accumulation in the capitalist system. A sociological approach is adopted. In this respect, it proposes a break with the liberal paradigm and attempts to recover the centrality of groups and social classes in the analysis of this phenomenon, without losing sight of individual agency. Lastly, the text proposes an analytical model with a regional scope, oriented toward an understanding of the process of reconstituting unequal profits within the context of globalization.
Keywords : Latin America; inequality; profit; social classes; categorical peers; exploitation; accumulation of opportunities.
