Abstract

FINK, Hady  and  BOEHM, Frédéric. Corruption among Traffic Police: A First Approximation through Interviews with Colombian Taxi Drivers. Relac. Estud. hist. soc. [online]. 2011, vol.32, n.126, pp.67-85. ISSN 2448-7554.

This text analyzes the phenomenon of corruption among traffic police using the case study method to examine the interaction between Colombian taxi drivers and officials of the traffic police in two cities: Bogotá and Barranquilla. The perspective from which the analysis is conducted is the paradigm of rational action, taken from economic theory; while the methodology used was based on "interviews with experts" that make it possible to extrapolate generalizations from the individual case studies.

Keywords : corruption; rational action; interviews with experts; taxi drivers; traffic police.
