Abstract

TAPIA TOVAR, Evangelina  and  ZALPA, Genaro. Corruption as Reflected in Sayings and Refrains. Relac. Estud. hist. soc. [online]. 2011, vol.32, n.126, pp.21-65. ISSN 2448-7554.

This article approaches the study of corruption on the basis of sayings and refrains that, over the generations, have proffered a certain kind of wisdom as a means of helping common citizens construct a significant representation of their reality. Refrains are utilized as tools that attempt to employ language in order to make visible the behaviors, values and mental representations that are characteristic of the so-called popular culture of corruption.

Keywords : corruption; refrains; popular culture; everyday life; language of corruption.
