VAZQUEZ ROJAS, Angélica María; RODRIGUEZ JUAREZ, Eduardo and GONZALEZ CADENA, Maribel. Determining efficiency in teaching and research in Mexican universities. Rev. educ. sup [online]. 2020, vol.49, n.196, pp.57-79. Epub Mar 02, 2021. ISSN 0185-2760. https://doi.org/10.36857/resu.2020.196.1407.
Currently the university sector has placed special emphasis on the search for efficiency, equity and quality of services provided to society, due to the higher performance required by the increasingly competitive knowledge society. The Mexican university context reflects important changes during the first two decades of the 21st century. In this paper, the technical efficiency of Mexican universities is evaluated through Data Envelopment Analysis, finding that thirty-three percent of these institutions are efficient, and their teaching and research performance increases during the study period.
