Abstract

CARBONNEL, Alexandre; RUZ, Damián; OSORIO, Ana Maria  and  HERNANDEZ, Carla. Pedagogic model of scholastic scientific education. Social innovation in rural localities. Perfiles educativos [online]. 2019, vol.41, n.166, pp.58-74.  Epub Apr 17, 2020. ISSN 0185-2698.  https://doi.org/10.22201/iisue.24486167e.2019.166.59032.

We develop a pedagogic model centered on the interaction between school, community, and productive sectors, through a process of co-creation with stakeholders in the territory, to promote contextualized scientific education. We present the results of the first stage of the model, consisting of the application of a methodology of community involvement which allows us to collect qualitative information on local aspirations and problems. Methodologically, through interviews with stakeholders, surveys, and focus groups, we validated the desirability of the model, which offers a reflection on local reality, the future of education in the area, and the role of scientific training for youth. The results suggest a favorable outlook for the implementation of the model in its subsequent stages, based on processes of curricular adaptation and project-based learning methods.
