Abstract

BENAVIDES C., Antonio. Impresiones de manos humanas en algunos edificios mayas. Estud. cult. maya [online]. 2007, vol.30, pp.37-56. ISSN 0185-2574.

Human hand representations have been reported as part of research labor done at many sites of the Maya world. They were worked out with several colors, specially red, inside many caves, on building veneer stones, applied on the plaster covering and also used as elements of mural scenes. This phenomena also has a wide temporal distribution. Finding more examples of hand impressions in the course of consolidation works at some Puuc sites of northern Campeche lead us to resume the known reports and also the explanations until now presented.
