Abstract

The political rights of the natives to comprise of the legislative instances in Mexico had a first test in the federal elections of 2006. 28 uninominales districts in mainly indigenous populations were created, in order that the selected candidates were ofindigenous origin. Between the three political but important forces single the three percent of the total of their candidates was of indigenous origin in these districts and the deputies elect in 28 districts, finally, single seven are indigenous. It is hoped that in the legislative elections of 2009 the participation is greater, includes one new electoral districts agreed to the indigenous reality and extended so that they participate the natives in the Senate and the local Congresses, through the political parties or with you formulate named by its own communities.
