The goal of this article is to review the methodology and aims of comparative law, evaluating the risks oftransplants ofrules and institutions from one legal system to another one, as well as the risks involvedin the circulation oflegal models. The essay analyzes the concept of system from the perspective of social sciences, making the pertinent observations from the perspective of different disciplines, such as anthropology and sociology. Thus, the author discussed the evaluation of changes in a legal system from the economic analysis ofthe law, and questions the opportunity and viability of a world-wide or global legal system.
