Introduction

Renal lithiasis is a common disease, affecting almost one in 11 people. The medical-surgical treatment of stone disease has experienced a dramatic evolution during the last three decades. Laparoscopy became an alternative to open surgery and has been considered as a useful tool to handle many urological conditions.

Case report

A 47-year-old female patient presented with left lower back pain accompanied by pollakiuria, tenesmus, urgency and hematuria. A urotomography was performed identifying a hyperdense image in the left renal pelvis. Surgical treatment was indicated by laparoscopic pyelolithotomy.
