Método: los instrumentos MLQ-5 y MBI se aplicaron a n= 102 médicos y enfermeras.  Resultados: El estudio identificó que el liderazgo transformacional tiene un impacto negativo directo sobre el Burnout.  Limitaciones e implicaciones profesionales: Aunque los resultados del estudio no se pueden generalizar fuera del contexto hospitalario, los hallazgos amplían la comprensión de las variables que influyen en la relación entre el liderazgo transformacional y el agotamiento profesional del personal hospitalario, lo que puede orientar futuras investigaciones.  Valor original: Este estudio examina las posibles variables mediadoras y moderadoras de la relación entre el liderazgo transformacional y el agotamiento profesional, un área de investigación que no ha sido plenamente explorada en la literatura de los contextos hospitalarios.  Conclusiones: Nuestros hallazgos sugieren que los directivos que exhiben rasgos de liderazgo transformacional disminuyen el Burnout.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract:  Objective: The purpose of this article was to identify and test the specific relationships between a supervisor&#8217;s transformational leadership behaviours and subordinates&#8217; experience of Burnout within a public hospital in Mexico.  Background: Nurses and Doctors o en work in environments that lead to mental and physical exhaustion, also known as Burnout. Literature suggests that the leadership styles are related to employee attitudes and behaviours such as job satisfaction and organizational commitment. This fact has caused researchers and practitioners to consider leadership styles and their impact on the hospital personnel Burnout.  Methods: The Multifactor Leadership Questionnaire (MLQ-5 ) and Maslach Burnout Inventory and (MBI) questionnaires were applied to a sample of 102 doctors and nurses in a Mexican Public Hospital. Using Structural Equation Modelling, the relationship among the constructs of transformational leadership and Burnout was tested.  Results: The study identified that transformational leadership has a direct negative impact on Burnout.  Study Limitations and professional implications:  While the study results cannot be generalized outside of the hospital context, the findings further the understanding of variables influencing the relationship between transformational leadership and hospital personnel Burnout, which can guide future research.  Original Contribution: This study examines potential mediating and moderating variables of the relationship between transformational leadership and Burnout, an area of inquiry that has not been fully explored in the literature of hospital contexts.  Conclusions: Our findings suggest that leaders who exhibit transformational leadership traits are most likely to contribute to lower levels of emotional exhaustion, depersonalization, and reduced personal accomplishment.]]></p></abstract>
