Mission
The Cuicuilco journal has been published since 1980 by the National School of Anthropology and History (Escuela Nacional de Antropología e Historia). During these years, it has become an important space for the publication and dissemination of works of the national and international anthropological and historical community. It is distributed through exchanges with several countries in Latin America and the South of the United States. The journal is part of the CONACYTs Index of Mexican Journals of Scientific and Technological Research and it is also indexed in other services of international reference. In 1994, the journal began a new publishing era in order to guarantee its regular appearance and to integrate new scholars who work in anthropological and historical research in Mexico and Latin America. Since then, Cuicuilco is published as a four-monthly journal and has a print run of 1,000 copies per issue. The new era begins by publishing thematic issues, articles and reviews. It is currently composed of the following sections: Dossier, consisting of articles referring to the central theme of the issue; Miscellaneous, space destined to diverse anthropological and historical subjects; and Reviews, with news about recent and classic publications of relevance to anthropological and historical disciplines.
