Mission

Estudios Sociológicos de El Colegio de México is a peer-reviewed, open-access electronic scientific journal dedicated to publishing empirical research and theoretical contributions in sociology and related disciplines. Since its inception in 1983, it has served as a platform for the analysis of social issues in Mexico and Latin America, addressing topics such as migration, demographic shifts, the evolution of urban studies, the role of the state, and trade unionism, among others.

With a rigorous editorial approach and a double-blind peer review process, the journal aims to disseminate high-quality research with a primary focus on Latin America while maintaining global reach and impact. As of 2024, it has transitioned to a continuous publication model to enhance scientific communication and strengthen academic debate within the Social Sciences.
