Apertura is a scientific research and dissemination journal specialized in educational innovation edited by the Information Resources Coordination and the Virtual University System of the Universidad de Guadalajara. Apertura publishes original peer-reviewed articles related to non-conventional educational practices supported by the use of information and communication technologies, the application of continuing, open and distance education methods, in virtual environments, and non-conventional teaching and instructional development. The journal also publishes interviews with renowned professionals in the field of educational innovation, as well as reviews of recent publications or web pages that address topics of interest to our readers. The journal is published semiannually.
