The present research was conducted to identify the use that the university community (students and professors) in northern Jalisco give to the Chatgpt tool. Variables were analyzed, including previous experience of using Chatgpt, current academic use of Chatgpt, and perceptions of using Chatgpt. The participants were students from different undergraduate programs, as professors from the Centro Universitario del Norte de la Universidad de Guadalajara. It was also based on the case study method under the pragmatic paradigm, with a mixed approach. This approach combined the collection and analysis of quantitative and qualitative data, allowing for a deep and general understanding of the perception of the academic community regarding the use of Chatgpt in academic activities.
