GONZALEZ TOLOSA, David. Permanent Crisis. Five Publishing Houses from the Independent Sector of the Mexican Publishing Industry Facing the Covid-19 Crisis. Bibliographica [online]. 2022, vol.5, n.2, pp.191-224.  Epub Nov 29, 2024. ISSN 2594-178X.  https://doi.org/10.22201/iib.2594178xe.2022.1.125.

This article approaches the strategies five publishing houses that identify themselves as part of the independent sector of the publishing industry in Mexico developed to overcome the economic crisis triggered by the Covid-19 contingency in 2020. It is considered here that independent publishing houses are social organizations formed by a group of people who direct their actions, individually and collectively, towards achieving certain common objectives and shared goals. The latter establish numerous processes, and their purpose is to manage and organize the work to ensure the conceptualization and production of books. This paper aims to identify the readjustments applied to respond to organizational challenges posed by economic stagnation, considering that this type of entities already executed their work from a degree of uncertainty that deepened due to the effects of the crisis.
