These essay deals with communication from an interdisciplinary perspective, from the vision of leadership, sustainable tourism, culture, and organizational communication. From a documentary review, the aim was to present a reflection on the advances and trends of recent years in research in Latin America is presented, to identify the interests of the academy regarding these lines of research and their approach in communication thinking, recapitulating the main authors of refereed publications and presentations at forums and conferences in the region. Finding a lag in the volume of Latin American publications compared to other regions of the world, it was concluded that there is a challenge to continue opening the way for the study of these lines of research in the region.
