Abstract

NASCIMENTO, Aline Santos do; AUGUSTO, Cyndel Nunes  and  NEIRA, Marcos Garcia. Cultural physical education during the pandemic and queer studies: subversive bodies in action. Debate fem. [online]. 2024, vol.67, pp.221-252.  Epub Mar 24, 2025. ISSN 2594-066X.  https://doi.org/10.22201/cieg.2594066xe.2024.67.2406.

This article analyzes videos produced in 2020 by teachers who implemented the cultural curriculum of physical education as an alternative for promoting emergency remote teaching in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic. After watching recordings shown on the Grupo de Pesquisas em Educação Física (Group of Physical Education Surveys (gpef-feusp) channel, the authors selected excerpts addressing gender relations and sexuality that constitute the thematization of bodily practices, subsequently comparing them with the arguments available in queer and decolonial queer studies literature. They propose reflecting on the possibility of the emergence of subversive bodies in the pandemic context, the visualization of dissident corporeal aesthetics in remote classes and possible experiences in Physical Education.

Keywords : Physical Education; Cultural Curriculum; Queer Theory; Queer; Pandemic.
