This work shows, in a general way, the interest that José Ortega y Gasset had in Psychoanalysis, an original proposal by the Austrian doctor Sigmund Freud. The Spanish philosopher exposes some epistemological problems of psychoanalysis, certain criticisms of Ortega y Gasset show some of the limits of shortcomings to understanding psychoanalytic praxis from his philosophical proposal. From the above, work areas for psychoanalytic research on its anthropological side are clarified, which has effects on his clinical proposal.
