Abstract

REQUEJO CURTO, Blanca. “The Ones Caught Up”. An Evential Hermeneutic Review Over the Performing Phenomenon. Interpret. Rev. herméneut [online]. 2024, vol.9, n.2, pp.63-85.  Epub Oct 23, 2024. ISSN 2448-864X.  https://doi.org/10.19130/iifl.irh.2024.2/010s2701wo574.

This paper offers a hermeneutical strategy to approach the performing phenomenon in its theatrical staging within the framework of phenomenology of givenness. First, we’ll develop an analysis of the links we find between the most iconic ideas in this branch of phenomenology, taking the notions of desire and event as the key ones. We’ll support the viability of this proposal searching clues through the works of thinkers such as Gadamer, Marion, Derrida and Baudrillard. They’ll provide us some triggers to design a unique hermeneutical approach to this phenomenon and its main challenges. Finally, we’ll find out the relevance of phenomenology of givenness’ achievements when we need to research the erotic profile of hermeneutics in arts.

Keywords : phenomenology of givenness; performance event; desire; hermeneutics.
