In the context of the events marked by a profound crisis of violence and human rights in Mexico, the forced internal displacement of people has increased alarmingly, the victims of which continue to be unrecognized, or worse, ignored. Faced with the absence of an official diagnosis of the said problem, this paper presents the partial results of an exploratory ethnographic study that portrays the experiences of women who suffered forced internal displacement in the mountainous region of the state of Durango; thus portraying the complex situation regarding the violence and vulnerability suffered by this sector of the population, which has been ignored for decades.
