Abstract

MELCHOR BARRERA, Zoraya. Factors of creation and change in the public health institutions during Porfiriato in Jalisco. Let. hist. [online]. 2015, n.13, pp.111-140. ISSN 2448-8372.

This paper has the objective to examine, from the perspective of the historical new institutionalism, the factors that made possible the creation and changes of the institutions of public health in the national and local area at the end of the Porfiriato. In this sense, this paper proposes that the Superior Council of Health of Mexico and Jalisco were created and had changes due to the conjunction of diverse factors between those who stand out: the big socioeconomic and political processes, the persons responsible of the decisions and the influence of the epistemic communities.

Keywords : Superior Council of Health; institutional change; big socioeconomic and political processes; persons responsible of the decisions; epistemic communities.
