Abstract

CRUZ FAJARDO, Marley. Traces which tell stories. Views in art of the violence in Colombia. Let. hist. [online]. 2015, n.12, pp.201-219. ISSN 2448-8372.  https://doi.org/10.31836/lh.12.1784.

The art of Doris Salcedo and Beatriz Gonzalez is art which is produced with the footprints of the recent history of Colombia. This essay will endeavour to show the views these two artists have toward the violent acts in Colombian society, how this creates the feelings of reconstruction of the happenings, of the rescue of the historic and affective memory of the participants in the conflict. It is an examination of the means which art has to reconstruct a history which is shattered by massacres and the constant attacks on the humanity of others.

Keywords : violence; context; fine arts; historic processes; index art.
