LITTLEWOOD ZIMMERMAN, Herman Frank. The Commitment paradox. Investig. adm. [online]. 2020, vol.49, n.126, 12601.  Epub 11-Set-2020. ISSN 2448-7678.  https://doi.org/10.35426/iav49n126.01.

The objective of the study is to design a scale of Continuing Organizational Commitment and examine its relationship with Affective Commitment, Normative Commitment, Psychological Renunciation, Emotional Well-being and Performance. The method is expost facto quantitative correlational applied to a sample of 192 people who work full time in CDMX and Estado de México; the analyzes were carried out in SPSS and LISREL.

The results reveal that the Continuation Commitment is positively correlated with both types of Commitment and Psychological Renunciation, and not with Emotional Well-being; Affective Commitment is associated with organizational performance, but not Continuation Commitment and this tends to adversely affect personal performance; finally, a sequential trajectory of Affective Commitment-Psychological Renunciation-Emotional Well-being is confirmed. The main limitation lies in the subjective measurement of performance, and the originality and findings lie in the design of the scale and identification of adverse effects of the Continuation Commitment.
