This investigation is oriented to evaluate how different actions taken in quality and productivity can define the competitiveness level of one organization, this study was run in two automotive firms in Mexico, which had been leading the domestic market and showing an increment in exports during last decade. Quantitative and qualitative methods were used during the research stage including The 2004 National Total Quality Model, The Pyramid Competitiveness Model and case studies. Evidence shows that quality and productivity are directly proportional, and improvements in both variables results in a high competitiveness level.
