Resumen

PINUELA DE LAS HERAS, Alejandro. The Contemporary History of Palestine According toIlan Pappé: The Perpetual Dialogue of a Work on Occupation. Estud. Asia Áfr. [online]. 2025, vol.60, n.3, e3066.  Epub 06-Oct-2025. ISSN 2448-654X.  https://doi.org/10.24201/eaa.v60i3.e3066.

Ilan Pappé’s unique and always subjective perspective on the Israeli-Palestinian con-flict is valuable because it provides multiple layersof factual knowledge, essential for delving conscientiously into the current complexity of Palestinian territory and Israeli politics. This reviewarticle aims, on the one hand, to introduce potential readers to the virtues of one of his mostrecent works, The Biggest Prison on Earth: A History of the Occupied Territories (2017), which immerses the reader in the intricate mechanisms at play under the harsh reality experienced in the occupied territories. Furthermore, this text goes beyond a mere review, by placing Pappé’s idiosyncratic work within a challenging historical framework that also accommodates the contemporary nature of the ongoing conflict, seeking truth through understanding.
