ESPONDA PEREZ, Jorge Alberto  e  GALINDO RAMIREZ, Sergio Mario. Food Security in Ocozocoautla, Chiapas: Cultural, Political and Social Analysis through Food Practices. An. antropol. Food culture plays a crucial role in the nutrition, sustainability, and identity of communities. Identity is constructed through social relationships, knowledge, ancestral roots, and gastronomic heritage. In this context, the objective is to identify the ingredients and culinary preparations of the Zoque people, focusing on the inhabitants of the municipality of Ocozocoautla. These inhabitants have managed to preserve their food culture despite various economic adversities, pandemics, and political issues, keeping their traditions alive, such as the Zoque Coiteco Carnival. This article presents an analysis based on an ethnographic study of food and culinary practices, exploring the relationship between traditions and social knowledge, and their convergence with political and food security issues.

Palavras-chave : Zoque society; identity; Carnival; ancestral techniques; traditional cooks.
