This article analyzes the poetic voice’s approach to the concepts of “body”, “eroticism” and “aging” in Elías Nandino’s book Erotismo al rojo blanco, a collection of poems that burst onto the scene of Mexican poetry at the end of the 20th century and reflects the testimony and sexual experience of the author’s present and past. Erotismo al rojo blanco becomes a book that makes visible the sexual decline of a voice that expresses its desire to continue experimenting with eroticism and sexuality. It is a collection of poems that ruptures within the author’s own work, as he decides to write them as a reaction to his sexual impotence. In this book, the defeated body and the lucid mind of the enunciating voice are engaged in a divergent dialogue where poetic words, language games and double entendres shape a way of seeing life.
